I was that woman who was morbidly obese, sad, and miserable just two years ago
(See Photo Below). I could not play with my children outside without getting tired in just 10 minutes. I was the Mother whose children had to deal with comments from their friends about their Mom being so big and seeing how that hurt them. When I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which slows metabolism, I gave up and quit trying to be healthy. My weight went up to 224 pounds, my blood pressure required medication, and due to my weight I became insulin resistant which also required medication to control. One day I woke up, looked in the mirror, and came to the conclusion that either I needed to accept that I was slowly dying or I needed to stand up and fight for my life.
My choice was to fight for my life and for my family who needed me. The real me was screaming to get out and I made the decision to do whatever it took to have my body match my personality. On January 18, 2006 I started on the path to reclaiming my life. I started eating the right amount of food at the right times of the day and started walking. By January 18, 2007 I had lost 78 pounds! I went from a women’s size 24 to a misses size 12! My energy increased and I was taken off blood pressure and insulin medication. My personality fit my new body which mentally did wonders for me. I am alive, active, incredibly happy, healthy, and someone I can be proud of. Now my children brag about me to their friends and are proud I am their Mom.
I know how it feels to be over weight both physically and mentally. I also know how it feels to reclaim your life and become healthy. That is why I became a Certified Personal Trainer. I find great joy in helping others achieve their personal best. One of the best feelings in the world is knowing that I have helped others lead healthy, happy lives.
I will provide each client the guidance and support needed to improve their quality of life, achieve physical goals of weight loss or toning, and provide the tools needed to maintain their achievements for a lifetime.
Always remember, where the mind goes the body will follow. I am a living example of this statement and you can be too!
